"Terrorism in the Age of Twitter", The New Yorker
This article describes the role that social media plays in terrorist organizations and attacks. This piece from The New Yorker, through the use of real events such as the attacks on Paris committed by ISIL in 2015. Through these events it is able to show both the positive and negative roles that social media played during this time. The article also addresses how our government deals with these threats, and also what they are not telling us. For example, there is very little press on the mass terrorist attacks happening in North Africa, yet all ISIL related occurrences are force fed to us by the government and the news.
